Gardasil: Reclaiming my life#iBelieve#Vaccines#HPV

With C-vitamin/Glutathione treatment protocol

By Anika Hjorth, Denmark

Gardasil changed our lives

This is the sequel to Gardasil changed my whole life.

I have been in treatment for six weeks now. The first three weeks I only got IV C-vitamin, starting at half dose (25.000 mg). Glutathione was also given IV in half dose to begin with (See protocol here).

September 11th – after 42 days of treatment – 11 IV C-vitamin and 3 IV glutathione

I have listed my symptoms before and after treatment. The treatment continues.

  • Extremely low blood pressure (down to 70/43). Only a few days in the beginning of the treatment, none since that time
  • Nausea. Stopped after 8 treatments with C-vitamin
  • Fluctuating heart rate. A few days in the beginning
  • Burning pain in the body. Still some pain in the legs – but getting better
  • Heartburn. Disappeared after 8 treatments with C-vitamins
  • Pressure in the chest, difficulties breathing – often in the evening/during the night. Had a severe event as the body could not take the high dose of C-vitamin. Then the dose was lowered and the symptom disappeared
  • Short of breath even when doing light exercise. Still a symptom – Is really getting better
  • Disturbance in short-time memory. No problems any longer
  • Pain in the stomach. No problems any longer
  • Lots of pain the legs and the soles of the foot. Still lots of pain
  • Loss of strength in the muscles
  • Heavy pain during menstruation and strong bleeding. Still very painful but reduction of bleeding
  • Disturbance of vision of left eye. Still some disturbance
  • Oppression in the ears. Not any longer
  • Lack of B3, d-vitamin and calcium. Do not know

After startup of treatment I have a better appetite and a stronger desire to live. The bubble I have been living in for 1½ years has disappeared – I have a huge surplus of energy….

Tomorrow’s post goes into detail on Anika’s healing protocol.

Thank you Anika, for sharing these details, and God Bless!!

Gardasil: The Day Our Daughter’s Life Changed#Vaccines#iBelieve#Family

Crystal, and Skylee you are truly strong, and patient.  What examples you are of perseverance.

Thank you, for forging a trail to help those who are undergoing similar challenges or who will in the future.  One day, I am sure, the truth will prevail, and children, and their families will not be ravaged by these thoughtless, and inhumane acts.

Here is some music by a favorite artist of mine.  I find his music to have a healing element to it.  I hope you enjoy.  Your friend in truth, jen

By Crystal Butler, Chicopee Massachusetts

Gardasil changed my life

My daughter,  Skylee, was a healthy young lady prior to vaccination with Gardasil – she had the occasional cold but no major health issues.  Like many of her peers, she enjoyed music and going to concerts.  She enjoyed being a teenager simply hanging out with friends in and out of school.  All of this changed after she was vaccinated with Gardasil.

Skylee had her 13 year old physical on 21st August 2013. Her doctor recommended the Gardasil vaccine. I didn’t know much about it, so I texted my sister-in-law, who is a nurse, and asked her if she was going to get it for my niece. Her reply to me was yes, she had already had this vaccine.  Then, I asked the doctor who strongly recommended it. She said she was going to get it for her daughter as soon as she is old enough.  I figured it must be safe if they are both recommending it.

I was unaware of all the side effects that are listed in the prescribing information pamphlet that the doctors do not show patients as that comes inside the box containing the Gardasil vaccine. I was only aware of the minor side effects listed on the paper they hand out that lists pain, swelling itching and bruising at injection site, as well as fever, nausea, dizziness, vomiting and fainting.  I allowed her to get her first and only dose of the Gardasil vaccine.

Twelve days later, on the 2nd of September 2013 Skylee’s symptoms started. She had pain down her entire spine from the top of her neck to the bottom of her tailbone.  This pain increased as time went on.  Every couple of weeks she would get new symptoms, some lasting days, weeks and even months.

These symptoms included:

  • Pain through her whole back, including her arms and legs; shoulder pain
  • Chest pains, stomach pains
  • Headaches, stabbing pains in her head
  • The need to constantly crack her fingers, toes, ankles, back and neck
  • Chronic Fatigue; weakness; walking from class to class is too much sometimes; shortness of breath
  • Dizziness;  seeing green and red spots;  the words on the paper moving at times and not making sense; not being able to comprehend what she is reading;  constant need to move her eyes
  • Nausea, vomiting, and fever
  • Dry eyes, dry mouth
  • Light sensitivity, has to wears dark glasses inside the home and at school
  • blurred vision – at times unable to read or write because of dizziness, vision problems,  (teachers and her peers have to read and write for her)
  • Jittery, mood swings, fast talking, forgetfulness, irritable

There have also been some strange episodes when all of a sudden Skylee will have a blank stare and is unable to speak or walk. During these times she can hear and see what is happening around her, but unable to move.  She can laugh and is able to move her eyes and moan though, so we have found a way to communicate with her during these episodes.  The episodes last from 15 minutes to 2 hours. She has had numerous episodes in many places including the ER, school, home, in the car, and in the shower.

There was one time when we were taking her for bloodwork and Skylee was – well, out of it. We had to pick her up from the truck, put her in a wheelchair and then put her back into the truck the same way after the tests had finished.

All of the symptoms listed below she has experienced over the past year. Sometimes she will have only a few; sometimes it will be ten at once. Symptoms can last for hours, days, weeks, or even months. What is so strange is that the symptoms are always changing with new ones still showing up.

  • Burning eyes;
  • Hot flushes, night sweats, heavy periods;
  • Tightening of her chest; tingling in arms, legs, fingers and toes;
  • Poor balance; motion sickness;  room spins; difficulty in focussing;
  • Nose bleeds;  eye pains; easily bruised;
  • Legs, hands, feet and ankles cold to the touch;
  • And many of the symptoms identified above

The one symptom she has had every day after that one injection of Gardasil is the constant pain the entire length of her spine. The pain usually runs between 8 and 10 on the pain scale. When she takes Aleve or Ibuprofen the pain level goes down to a 6 on the pain scale. She has to take these medications daily.

Skylee has been to see numerous doctors including the Pediatrician who she has been with since birth, two different neurologists, a spine and sport facility, an orthopedic specialist, a urologist and eye doctors, a rheumatologist and physical therapist and a holistic practitioner.

She had to be taken to the ER on three different occasions.   She has been subjected to many tests including an MRI scan, X-rays, ultra-sound, full eye examinations and numerous visits to the laboratories for extensive blood work including testing for heavy metals.

The results of all of this testing and some official diagnoses are that Skylee has a complex cyst on her left kidney which will be monitored every 6 months; her EEG’s showed seizure like activity with very sharp brainwaves and spikes in her brainwaves.

They also discovered that she has an arachnoid cyst on her brain which has been followed up, and thankfully it is not growing.  This will continue to be followed up annually to make sure it does not increase in size.  We have been advised by the neurosurgeon that this cyst would cause a different set of symptoms, mainly a change in her coordination level.

Skylee also has vitamin D deficiency. The results from the heavy metal testing were high.

In addition to the above she has been diagnosed also with these disorders:

  • Chronic Fatigue Syndrome;
  • Chronic Pain Processing Disorder;
  • Depression – this has only come about because of all that has happened to Skylee since she was vaccinated with Gardasil;
  • Psychosomatic disorder – this is what they would prefer to be the official diagnosis.

Skylee has been on a few treatments and in a lot of cases these have been stopped because she had an “episode” at school not long after taking pain medication.  She has also been offered Prozac and Amitriptyline for Fibromyalgia and the latter for chronic pain/depression which we have refused.

Gardasil has changed Skylee’s life

She has missed 56 days of school since her injection and has gone in late a lot. She was dismissed from classes multiple times for not feeling well or having to leave school to attend doctors’ appointments.

Skylee often says she feels like she is 80 years old. She is unable to live life like a normal teenager.

She needs constant supervision due to her “episodes,” so she cannot go places with friends on her own.  Skylee cannot shower alone as being alone. Her ”episodes” make it impossible. I sleep with her in case she has an episode during her sleep.

Skylee’s biggest complaint through all of this is the inability to read and write due to the dizziness, head pressure, vision problems and stabbing pains in her head.  She says she would rather deal with daily pain rather than not being able to read. It is embarrassing for her to have to rely on her teachers or peers to read and sometimes write for her. She feels she is a burden to the other students and is holding them back from getting their own work done.

Through all of this she tries to keep her spirits up as much as possible and not let Gardasil get the better of her.

We are now in the process of getting Skylee a tutor through school so she can stay at home and still get her 9th grade education. She does not really want to stay home with a tutor. She would rather be at school with all of her friends. She is very outgoing and gets a long with everyone but we feel this is the safest option for her as of now.

Gardasil has affected our family

Because my daughter cannot be left alone due to the serious health issues she is experiencing, I have had to quit my job.  I had been with this company for almost 6 years.

My husband, Wayne, has also had to leave his work early and some days has missed work altogether.

I don’t sleep in bed with my husband as I now have to sleep with Skylee just in case she has an ”episode” in her sleep.

Skylee’s illness demands we sometimes pay more attention to her than her 11 year old brother (Sabastian) and I’m sure that must bother him.

I know it sometimes bothers Sabastian to see Skylee deal with all of the things she goes through. He too has had to miss school or be dismissed early because Skylee has taken unwell or had to go for a doctor’s appointment.

The Gardasil vaccine has changed Skylee’s life in so many ways and we do not know how many more symptoms will show up and change her life even more than it has already done.  Our whole family has been affected by this vaccine and all of our lives have been turned upside down that terrible day in 2013.

If only the doctors would recognize Skylee has gone from being a healthy young girl to an invalid when the only major change in her life occurred on the day she had that single shot of Gardasil.

Gardasil: The decision I will always regret#HPV#Medical#iBelieve

By Wendy Barnes Early, Paola Kansas

My Gardasil Nightmare

I want to share with you all Courtney’s story and what happened to my daughter after receiving the Gardasil vaccine – thankfully she only had one shot.

In the summer of 2012, I took my daughter to her Pediatrician for her routine annual exam. Her doctor strongly recommended that Courtney receive Gardasil because they highly recommend this vaccine for teens.

Within 3-4 weeks after Courtney had her first and only Gardasil vaccine, she complained of headaches daily, extreme fatigue, and nausea. She had little to no energy which was NOT like my daughter. She became very moody, irritable and almost depressed. Soon she was complaining about not wanting to eat, muscle weakness and tremors.  Her hands would shake uncontrollably, along with her legs. I noticed at times her hands would look mottled, then turn purple/blue in color. If you have ever seen a person after they pass, this is what her hands looked like.

This truly scared me as I am a nurse by profession and I felt like I was watching my sweet outgoing daughter deteriorate. We made an appointment with her Pediatrician. She ran routine blood work and referred my daughter to a GI specialist at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. There she had a 1 hour appointment with a physician, blood work, an endoscopy, all which was normal with the exception of mild Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). The doctor gave her a prescription for the nausea, Zofran which didn’t help her at all. We changed her diet, tried a different prescription for nausea and nothing helped.

My daughter’s Pediatrician then sent her to a Psychologist to make sure this wasn’t psychosomatic. After the initial meeting with my daughter, the psychologist pulled me back and spoke with me about Courtney. She said she felt Courtney was emotionally stable and a great kid and her health issues were not psychological. She also stated that she felt Courtney was becoming depressed because they cannot figure out what is wrong with her. She stated that she felt the problem stems from something medically that is wrong with her and to continue down this route. We had my daughter’s Pediatrician place her on a mild anti-depressant.

I felt we were not getting anywhere with my daughter’s primary doctor so I asked one of the doctors I personally know what her thoughts were and where we should go next in the medical field for help. She recommended an Endocrinologist. We advised the Pediatrician of this and she recommended a pediatric endocrinologist at St. Lukes.

After Courtney’s appointment with the pediatric endocrinologist, he felt it was possible that her adrenal glands were not functioning correctly. He ordered additional blood on Courtney. This blood work showed Courtney supposedly had “Adrenal Insufficiency” which means her adrenal glands were not working correctly. The endocrinologist said they were seeing more teens being diagnosed with this in the last several years. I asked if he felt it was tied to Gardasil since teens are now receiving this vaccine, he said he wasn’t sure but definitely thought it was worth looking into and keeping track of. My daughter was placed on steroids and it was hoped that this would improve the situation. This condition is also considered life threatening if she were to become very ill or in an accident etc.

Several months later after being placed on high doses of steroids she barely showed any improvements. Her symptoms were about the same.

I sent my concerns to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. They responded back within 1-2 days and we set up her appointment within 30 days. After this clinic had been sent all of Courtney’s records they set up a plan to carry out more testing. Every day at Mayo she would go through several tests. On her first day there she met with the main doctor in charge of her case. After 4 days of consistent testing we met with an endocrinologist and her case doctor.

I was with Courtney during all of this testing to give her some needed support. During one of her tests called a “tilt table test” Courtney’s blood pressure was so low when they had her in an upright position that they manually couldn’t hear her blood pressure and the machine couldn’t pick it up. They were shocked she didn’t pass out! She had several other tests along with additional blood work.

On the last day at MAYO when we met with the endocrinologist, he felt Courtney was misdiagnosed with Adrenal Insufficiency and was now truly adrenal insufficient after having been placed on high doses of steroids. He recommended we see a new endocrine doctor at Kansas University Medical Center when we went back to Kansas and for her to be tapered off her steroids. He felt her adrenal glands would wake back up. Then we met with her case doctor, she diagnosed Courtney with “Autonomic Dysfunction”. This is a neurologic disease that they are also seeing more of. She has been placed on a high salt diet, drinking a lot of fluids especially water, placed on an exercise regime, and she takes a prescription for this 3 times daily. They feel she “should” grow out of this but aren’t sure at what age.

They too aren’t sure “why” she has this disease! She was a normal, healthy teen girl with mild asthma that was controlled. She was outgoing, happy, loving girl with straight “A’s” in school.

She was full of life UNTIL she received her first and only Gardasil vaccine and this is a decision I regret every second of every day – if only I could turn back the clock!

Since this new diagnosis, Courtney has some improvements, her nausea is better until they decrease her steroids, she has more energy but it doesn’t last long and her moods are more stable and she is happy again! Courtney still has hand tremors, leg tremors and does get fatigued easily. She is finally doing things with her friends this summer where last summer she missed out on everything as she felt so ill. I am so thankful that she never had the second and third injections. God is the only one who knows what would have happened to her if she had completed the course.

Therefore, to all the families out there who are thinking about having their daughters vaccinated with Gardasil please, please be careful, do your own research and see the high number of young ladies and guys who are experiencing serious health issues following vaccination. You have a healthy child one day and after being vaccinated with Gardasil, or Cervarix, this healthy child is no more. They develop unexplained health issues which more than often are misdiagnosed and in many cases a finger is pointed at them that their condition is “psychosomatic”.

Please believe me your child is sick and requires medical attention – never allow anyone to try and make this out to be a mental health issue. What happened to my daughter I know and believe that her symptoms were caused by Gardasil.

Gardasil changed my whole life#Vaccines#HPV#iBelieve

By Anika Hjorth from Fredericia, Denmark

Gardasil changed our lives

I am the mother of three children, ages 1, 8 and 9. In addition to taking care of my home and family, I work as the sales coordinator for a local newspaper. I enjoy family outings and holidays.  I used to run 20km at a time to stay physically fit. Gardasil changed all of this.

The quadrivalent HPV vaccine, Gardasil, was approved for use in Denmark in 2006. I had read a little on the internet about it, but did not find any reason why I should not take the vaccine. On many sites, Gardasil was looked at as a somewhat miraculous breakthrough in the prevention of cervical cancer.

March 26 2013. I got my first injection of the HPV-vaccine, Gardasil.

May 1st, 2013, I woke up during the night with extremely low blood pressure and a terrible pressure in the chest. I had difficulty breathing and the low blood pressure made me dizzy. My boyfriend called the doctor who only ordered me to stay calm and rest. He questioned whether my sphygmomanometer (blood pressure monitor) was working at all. I knew I bought it in 2012 and it was a very good quality instrument.

During the long period after, I had a lot of off days where my blood pressure was very low, my  heart rate was high and I felt unwell in general.

For a long time I fought extremely low blood pressure. I felt so tired and exhausted. I was constantly nauseous, which I thought to be connected to the fact I was so tired and did not have any energy at all.

My doctor suggested eating liquorice – actually he was not very worried about my condition.

May 27, 2013 I had a similar attack as described above. Again I contacted my doctor and told him that something was wrong in my body but I could not explain what.

On May 29 we planned to travel down to the South of Europe for two weeks, but something told me it would never work out. My doctor decided to refer me to Fredericia Hospital. He wanted me to be tested for some rare heart diseases.  The chief physician explained that travelling with this low blood pressure and the other symptoms I had would not be safe. Then a longer diagnosing period started including a lot of different tests.

June 13th 2013 I got my second vaccination. Between the two vaccinations I had weak health but I did not think about any connection to the first vaccination, so I got the second.

On July 19. 2013 I got a call from the chief physician who informed me that everything was normal. The reason for my symptoms was that I was dreaming about an earlier course of disease in connection with the birth of my first daughter. That should be the reason for the hyperventilation and the low blood pressure. And the low blood pressure gave me the nausea. He could not explain the very strong pain I had in my legs.

On July 28, 2013 my boyfriend saw the front page of one of our tabloid newspapers. The headline was 422.000 have received the HPV-cancer-vaccination – doctors are worried about the side effects. In the article we read about the side effects and the damages the vaccine could cause to the body. When I read the symptoms, it was like reading a list of my own new medical conditions. In the next couple of days I realized that the vaccination could be the reason for my new disorders.

On August 15, 2013 I went to my doctor bringing the newspaper. He listened with interest and skepticism. He took the newspaper in order to read it thoroughly and thereafter gave me his judgment. He saw the similarities and suddenly all my symptoms made sense. My doctor understands me. He recognizes and accepts my new medical conditions as side effects of HPV vaccination.

On August 24, 2013 I was hospitalized again with difficulty breathing, chest pains and muscle spasms. I was met by skepticism at the hospital.  As all blood tests and EKG did not show any signs of disease, they could only conclude that I did not feel well and as they said, ”We are so sorry.” The next day I was sent home. I stayed in bed for a week due to pain in my legs and chest.

Today June 30, 2014 my side effects are completely controlling my everyday life. They are as follows:

  • Extremely low blood pressure (measured as low as  70/43)
  • Constant nausea
  • Constant changing heart rate
  • Burning pain in the body
  • Constant heartburn
  • Pressure in the chest, difficulty breathing – often during  the evening and into the night
  • Short of breath even during light exercise
  • Itching
  • Problems with short-term memory
  • Pain in the stomach
  • A lot of pain in the legs
  • A lot of pain the sole of my foot
  • Loss of strength in the muscles
  • Very painful periods including heavy bleeding
  • Visual disorders in the left eye
  • Pressure in the ears
  • Lack of B3, D vitamin and calcium

The symptoms are influencing my daily life as follows:

  • I cannot take care of the household
  • I have difficulty going to the first floor of our house
  • I need help very often to take care of our three children
  • I cannot arrange anything ahead as I do not know how my condition will be from one day to the next
  • On bad days I cannot drive our car
  • I can only work 30 hours a week
  • I cannot take care of the shopping
  • I cannot handle more than one thing at a time
  • I am only capable of a limited number of impressions a day
  • We are considering selling the house due to uncertainty of what the future holds
  • I am tied to the house. I cannot travel, do any trips or similar activities
  • I cannot run anymore – I used to run 20 km at a time
  • I am completely exhausted after 1.5 km walking with the baby carriage
  • I am dependent on others 24 hours a day

I wish Gardasil was like other medications. When you have an adverse reaction to a pill you are taking, you simply discontinue using it and the symptoms go away. It is not nearly as easy to fix a bad reaction to a vaccine.

Gardasil Reaction in Texas: A Letter from Aubrey

Dear Dr. Flannery,

Just wanted to say thank you! You have changed my life. Before we started care with you I felt miserable. My whole body was in pain. I never wanted to do anything except sleep all the time. But now I feel so much better then I use to! My pain and jerks have gotten better! The sound and the light sensitivity has also gotten better. I can handle light more and it doesn’t hurt my eyes as bad. The sound I can also handle more of! Also, my family has noticed I have more energy than I use to! So again, thank you so much for everything.

Love,

Aubrey B.

Gardasil Reaction in California: Ashlie’s Near-Death Experience

In the middle of June 2009, Ashlie received her first and only Gardasil vaccine.  Approximately 16 days later Ashlie began to complain that her legs were not working correctly.  Looking back, I am not sure what I thought it was, but I had her take some Tylenol.  The next morning, I came downstairs and Ashlie was lying on the couch.  She told me that she had crawled from her room and down the stairs to get to the couch. She informed me she could not walk. I asked her to stand. She tried and fell to the floor.

She was quickly taken to our local ER. The doctor threw his hands in the air saying he had no idea and it must be growing pains. She was given crutches and a prescription for steroids.  I took her home convinced the doctor was wrong, as I am a mother of 5 daughters and had never witnessed growing pains like that.

Later that night, I helped Ashlie in and out of the bathtub because she could no longer walk. I went to hand her something and to my horror discovered that her arms and hands were not working either. She literally could not pick up what I was handing her. I rushed Ashlie to an ER over an hour away.  I carried her in, and for a crowded ER on a Saturday night, she was seen within 1 hour.

I was asked if she had been sick and I informed them she had not. We were told that she had Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS). I could not figure out how she got this.

Once she was admitted to the hospital, they handed me a bunch of literature on GBS. My answer to how she contracted GBS was in the first sentence that I read, and it said that you can get GBS from a vaccine. She had just had a vaccine, the Gardasil vaccine earlier that month.

As Ashlie lay in the hospital bed I watched her go from a vibrant young girl to a shell of non-existence. She was unable to walk, she was unable to get up to use the bathroom and as she couldn’t eat, an NG tube was placed in her nose so they could feed her. She was given intravenous immunoglobulins (IVIG) and plasmapheresis , in the hope that this would stop the paralysis and start it descending.

Within 24 hours things went from bad to worse. Her respiratory system was shutting down. The GBS was paralyzing her to the point that she could not breathe. She was rushed to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). Within minutes of being there she stopped breathing. I could not believe what I was seeing. My baby girl was dying before my very eyes.  They put her on a bi-pap machine to help her breathe and on July 1, 2009 Ashlie was intubated.  She could no longer breathe on her own, to keep her alive a machine had to do the work for her.  Her heart was racing, ranging between 160-180 bpm. For the next 2 1/2 weeks, I sat and watched as she continued to get worse.

Slowly her body began to “heal” and the GBS started to descend.  After 3 weeks of being intubated, she began to breathe on her own and was extubated. However, as the feeling came back, she was in excruciating pain. Pain so bad she felt like we were ripping her skin off if we touched her.  She was then transported to Orange County to Healthbridge Children’s Hospital for rehabilitation. Ashlie spent another 4-weeks away from home doing physical and occupational therapy 7-days a week. She was tired, her body hurt, her body would not cooperate at times, and we had lots of tears.  After spending her 13th birthday in the hospital we decided it was time to go home and start our new lives.

After 6-months of therapy at our local hospital the therapists said there was not much more they could do for her and she was as good as she was going to get. That was not the answer I wanted to hear. She was only 13-years-old.

Although some things fell into place, we noticed that Ashlie’s health began to change also. She was unable to keep foods down. Anytime she ate, she became very ill and everything came out one way or another. We noticed that she would have dizzy spells and pass out. She would have severe nerve pain at times, to the point that she could not be touched by anyone anywhere on her body. She said it felt as if her skin was being pulled from her body again. I have watched her go in and out of consciousness and struggle to breathe. We have taken Ashlie to many different doctors and specialists. At one point they almost did heart surgery on her to try and stop her from passing out.

She has been seen in different emergency rooms over the last 4 years only to be told time and time again, that there is nothing wrong with her and that it is all in her head.

Finally, during the summer of 2013, I was reading a story about a girl who had been injured by the Gardasil vaccine. I never read the comments below because I find them to be rude or critical. This particular day, I decided to read one.

A lady mentioned a doctor who helped her niece. I contacted her and then the doctor. The doctor was Dr. Mark Flannery at HealthWise Clinical Nutrition. My first phone call to HealthWise Clinical Nutrition, was the first time I was hopeful that Ashlie would get better. In talking to them on the phone they were not shocked at her condition and they were very familiar with it. Finally, finally we were going to get help and the answers we were looking for. Happy that someone believed us.  It took a few months to get all of Ashlie’s medical records in order. We contacted all of her doctors and specialists that we had been seeing. The staff at HealthWise Clinical Nutrition was amazing, keeping in constant contact with me through the process and answering any questions I was having.  We met with Dr. Flannery in Sept 2013 and started treatment in October 2013. It has been a long hard road.  Ashlie has completely changed her eating pattern and takes many supplements. She has phone appointments with him every 4-6 weeks. She is taking less supplements now and is getting ready to soon start bringing foods back into her diet.  She feels amazing and she looks amazing. She was sick all the time before seeing Dr. Flannery, and now, she feels like she has her life back.

One of her goals she discussed with Dr. Flannery was to become flexible again. A silly thing to most, but to her as a dancer it is everything. She is slowly but surely getting it back. I even watched her do a backbend from a standing position a few days ago. Something I thought I would never see again.

I regret every day giving her this vaccine, but I am so glad she is such a fighter and has not given up.  We hope too that whatever we can achieve for Ashlie can benefit so many other girls and boys who have also been badly injured by the Gardasil vaccine.

Gardasil Reaction in New Mexico

My daughter BaLeigh was treated by Dr. Mark Flannery for side effects from the Gardasil vaccine.  We live in New Mexico and, of course he is in Simi Valley, California.  To my surprise the distance was not an obstacle in any way.  The attention we received from Dr. Flannery far exceeded anything we experienced with local doctors.

I cannot say enough positive things about the experience that we had with Dr. Flannery, both for BaLeigh’s physical health, but also our mental stability.  It was a very difficult time when we found him. BaLeigh was very ill.  Her health was very unstable.  She was having life-threatening symptoms and had lost all quality of life.  We had visited many traditional medical doctors and had many traditional medical tests run on BaLeigh.  We were finding no answers.  Dr. Flannery was the light at the end of the tunnel for us.  His method of treatment was uncomfortable for us at first, but we followed it to the letter.  BaLeigh’s life threatening symptoms started to level out and she began to improve instead of developing new symptoms every day.

While Dr. Flannery’s treatment is truly what we believe is best for the Gardasil girls, that was not the only thing we received from Dr. Flannery.  He cares about the girls who are sick and the compassion he showed us was invaluable.  He was very accessible for us and understood the emotional toll of this condition along with the physical price.

Dr. Flannery was a gift from God to us.  The care he gave us, not only to BaLeigh, but also to me as her mother, was proof to us that God cared about what was happening in our lives and that He was working and providing answers.  I would encourage any female who is suffering from Gardasil to do everything exactly as Dr. Flannery instructs.

Gardasil Reaction in Saudi Arabia

I have been injured on the 14th of March 2011 by the Gardasil vaccine. Right after that I started a severe back pain, nausea, total fatigue along with total body pain. At one stage I reached to a level that I lost the ability to walk more than two minutes as the pain was unbearable. This vaccine is the worst thing that ever happened to me. I looked for many doctors but none of them had a clue of what is going on with my body.

Dr. Flannery is the only Doctor who I met that had a clear understanding of how much Gardasil can damage your body. His treatment is totally different but very effective. I really have improved with Dr. Flannery and I do not have the nausea anymore and now have more energy to get the day done. I am able to walk again and my back pain has been improving with time. I still have more treatment to be done but I am confident that with the help of God and Dr. Flannery I will be back to my normal me soon.

By the way I am living in Saudi Arabia and amazingly that was not an issue for Dr. Flannery, and we managed to find ways to get meetings done online with Skype and have supplements sent to me for treatment. He is an amazing guy and will do anything for his patients. I am very lucky to be treated by him and I thank God for sending him my way.

Gardasil Reaction in South Dakota

We feel truly blessed to have found Dr. Mark so quickly after the decline of our daughters’ health after their second Gardasil shot. Not only was I scared by the girls’ health but also by the lack of answers and attention we were getting from traditional medicine. Calling this nontraditional Doctor was a leap of faith in more ways than one.  We were 1,300 miles away from him, our insurance wouldn’t cover most of the treatments, and we don’t have much money.  But you will do anything for your children – right?  I’m so thankful I made that call.

At the time the girls were 12 and 15 years old and experienced different reactions. Both had muscle aches and spasms, exhaustion and blackouts. Our eldest experienced seizures and severe headaches, too. Both of the girls had always been extremely healthy and any kind of illness was out of the usual. To watch the decline in them was terrifying.

My rattled nerves were calmed tremendously in just visiting with Dr. Mark. And it was Dr. Mark who spoke with me, not a nurse or receptionist. He was familiar with our story when no one else would even believe us, and he had answers. There ended up being no travel involved, very reasonable prices, and some of the most attentive care I have ever witnessed. Dr. Mark gave me his office number, cell number and home number…and answered when I called!

The treatments are very holistic and scientifically based. The girls hated the diet restrictions, but survived it and are well today. My husband and I followed the same diet with the girls just to be supportive and have chosen to continue with it because we feel so much better and experience very few of the aches and pains we had previously thought were related to aging – not diet!

I have recommended Dr. Mark to people with all sorts of ailments…leaky guts, fibromyalgia, arthritis, and of course, any girl suffering an adverse reaction to Gardasil.

No matter what Western Medicine is telling (or not telling) you, if your daughter has suffered an adverse reaction, do her a huge favor…pick up the phone and call Dr. Mark. You won’t regret it like you are regretting other things right now!

Thank you, Dr. Mark, for rescuing us! Thank you, Lord, for Dr. Mark. We are truly grateful.

Gardasil Reaction in Missouri

There are not enough words for me to be able to fully express my gratitude to Dr. Mark Flannery. It is because of him and the grace of God that I still have my daughter with me today.

My daughter Cassie started experiencing side effects from the Gardasil vaccine immediately after her first injection, but because we were told the reaction was completely unrelated to Gardasil she continued with all three shots. It was after the third and final one that she became seriously ill. Cassie was hospitalized, her symptoms consisted of severe abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, severe headaches with light and sound sensitivity, and extreme nose bleeds. After being in the hospital for 7 weeks the doctors diagnosed Cassie with pancreatitis, polycystic ovarian syndrome, and severe intestinal swelling. She was placed on TPN and Lipids (IV nutrition as she could not eat) and had surgery to remove the cysts. Her condition continued to worsen and the doctors had no idea why or how to further help her. Cassie was then flown to yet another hospital. After three more weeks Cassie started having seizures as well as other neurological problems and still no answers. Still on the feeding tube with 5 different IV nausea medications, as well as IV pain medicine we were sent home with Home Health to continue the care of Cassie.  Less than one month later Cassie lost feeling in her lower extremities and started experiencing heart problems. Cassie went back into the hospital for another three weeks and then to a rehab facility where Cassie started the process of walking again.

It was at this point when God brought Dr. Flannery into our lives. Cassie spent over 13 weeks in the hospital and another 4 in a rehab facility and yet she was not getting better, she was continuing to get worse. Every week was another symptom and the only thing the medical profession knew to do was symptomatic treatment, and that was not helping. Dr. Flannery took over Cassie’s care, treating the dysfunction undrlying her illness rather than the symptoms and with just a few short weeks Cassie began to stabilize. I was very uncertain of Dr. Marks approach; however, we had given western medicine more than enough time to help our daughter and it failed us miserably.

I know had it not been for God leading us to Dr. Mark Flannery, my daughter Cassie would not be with us today. It has now been a year and Cassie is eating on her own (following a strict diet), walking, and only taking supplement recommended by Dr. Mark. Cassie still has some healing to do, but we are confident with the help of Dr. Mark she will be 100% soon.

Gardasil Reaction in Nebraska

After receiving the Gardisil vaccination in February, I experienced severe abdominal pain that brought on vomiting, headaches, back pain and high blood pressure. I was in and out of the hospital for a total of 12 days in 2 months while they performed many tests including: blood tests, multiple cat scans, an MRI and other tests revealing no definitive diagnosis.

My sudden illness kept me from completing my schoolwork and I had to eventually take a leave of absence from Junior High. Something had to be done since I wasn’t getting better on my own and the doctors could not offer me any relief.

I left my hometown in Nebraska for Simi Valley, California in search of a miracle.

My Aunt Candice referred my family to HealthWise Chiropractic & Nutrition. We had our doubts, but were hopeful. The course of treatment included chiropractic therapy combined with advanced nutrition and dietary changes.

In one month, I am free from the stomach pain, vomiting, headaches, back pain and my blood pressure is now normal. I feel 100% better! I’m now looking forward to living as a vibrant 14 year old with more energy than before!

Thank you Dr. Mark and Dr. Vera.

Gardasil Reaction in Louisiana

After receiving the Gardasil vaccine, my daughter began experiencing an array of troubling symptoms, including numbness, severe swelling, and difficulty walking.  At times, Alison’s ankles would swell so badly that she could not wear shoes.  The doctors we originally sought just wanted to treat her symptoms with drugs instead of getting to the root of her problem.  No one knew how to treat Alison’s “mysterious” illness, and it was a very frustrating time in our lives.

After contacting HealthWise Chiropractic & Nutrition, I knew that we had found the right place.  Speaking with Dr. Vera made us feel refreshingly understood and Dr. Mark confirmed our confidence in HealthWise.  Alison is now recovering without drugs and their side effects!  Dr. Mark and Dr. Vera have been nothing but honest, encouraging, and knowledgeable in regards to Alison’s treatment.

I would not hesitate to recommend Healthwise Chiropractic & Nutrition. In fact, I recommend anyone not getting the results they desire from the traditional medical community to seek better health and knowledge from HealthWise.  Finding Dr. Mark was a gift from God – I truly believe this.

Gardasil: Conversion disorder? I don’t think so!#Vaccines#HPV#Health

By Tamara Toussaint-Brown, Loveland Colorado

Haleigh and Gardasil

Haleigh’s story starts out like many others.  She was always involved in some kind of sports: gymnastics, dance, cross country, track/field, flag football, basketball, softball, plus just doing outdoor activities bike riding, long boarding, hanging out with friends etc…  The family was always involved and enjoyed watching her at any of her events.  She was very happy, though she was always shy and quiet in her classes (her teachers always told us how much they loved her and how respectful she is but wished she would talk more).

The only time she ever went to the doctor was to get immunizations and physicals to play sports and couple of injury visits. Haleigh received her first injection of Gardasil on the 26th of June 2008 and the second on the 24th of September 2009.

She was in 7th grade with her 13th birthday coming up at the end of Jan 2010.  We planned a trip to the “haunted” Stanley Hotel in Estes. I remember earlier in January she was sick and vomiting a couple different times. When she recovered I thought – good, she will be healthy for the trip to the hotel.

While at the ‘haunted’ hotel, she slipped and fell on a small grass hill and broke her wrist.  We all joked about it saying that a ghost pushed her.

During the first weeks of Feb 2010, she started to have stabbing pains in her right side (gallbladder) and more nausea. At first, the doctors thought maybe the pain was from the fall at hotel and prescribed physical therapy and some pain meds.

That didn’t work, so they said she was either having cramps or she was constipated. She was prescribed a soft laxative.  Haleigh knew this was not her problem.

We returned to the office several times, pleading with them to not prescribe any more medications that would simply mask the problem. We knew something was seriously wrong.

They could see from her medical records that we did not visit them previously for anything other than routine visits.  Haleigh explained repeatedly that she was experiencing stabbing pains and nausea all the time.

In April we went in and the doctor actually asked how she was during spring break insinuating that she might have been faking symptoms to avoid school. I said, “As the matter of fact, it is her spring break now and she is miserable.”

I could not believe they just kept trying to medicate her for a UTI (urinary tract infection), cramps and constipation.

After two and half months of watching her suffer rolled in ball crying,  I searched for additional help and found a doctor who ordered a hydascan (special nuclear die test).  This test revealed that her gallbladder was functioning at less than 10% of normal capacity.

Conversion disorder?

Her gallbladder was removed two days before Easter 2010. The surgeon said he had no idea why it was not functioning because it looked to be a healthy gallbladder with no sludge or any defects.

No, she did not fit the profile for a gallbladder issue but we were happy to have the answer and move on.  She would feel better now.  The stabbing pain was gone.  She was affected by foods now that she didn’t have a gallbladder.  We had to spend some time getting used to know what foods she could and could not eat.

In Sept 2010, she started having issues again – back to hospitals and doctor visits. This time we thought it was due to her gallbladder but, the stabbing pain had come back in the lower right side this time.

The doctors said this was because she might have ovarian cysts and sent her to the women’s clinic during the first week of November.  The clinic put her on birth control pills and Vicodin.

By the end of November, Haleigh was in so much pain her family doctor sent us back to the women’s clinic where the doctor said this has nothing to do with cysts.  She felt it was appendicitis and admitted her to the hospital.

The hospital kept her there for two nights and many tests with no explanations forthcoming.  They said she was a ‘mystery’.

The family doctor thought stress was causing her stomach to produce too much acid and said she should take some antacids.

After watching her suffer again with stabbing pain, I started searching for answers with other doctors.  We went to Children’s Hospital and saw a gastroenterologist. The week before Christmas she was back in surgery getting her appendix removed and small cyst that had ruptured on her right ovary.

Again the surgeon stated that the appendix looked healthy.  So now that she has no gallbladder or appendix and she’s on birth control pills to help with cysts. She should be on the up and up now.

Despite all of Haleigh’s mysterious new symptoms, no one considered the possibility of any connection to the Gardasil vaccine. She received her third and final injection on the 9th of March 2011.

Throughout the entire ordeal, her teachers were very understanding and helpful.  They knew Haleigh and felt so bad knowing she was not well.   She desperately wanted to get back into sports.  Running was painful for her now and tiring.  We thought this to be from her surgeries.

Haleigh started gymnastics again just before 9th grade started and injured the lisfranc ligament in her foot.  She was unable to start the softball season in high school because she was in a boot.

The summer before 10th grade she had high school softball practice and began the season.  Right at the start of school she had a first aid class outside and was stung by a bee in the foot.  Haleigh has been stung before and had no allergic reaction, but this time her foot became so swollen she could not get her cleats on for her softball games for a couple of weeks.

Once she was back to practice she was hit in the face with ball while warming up with a teammate. She was unable to play for most of the season because of the concussion, but was back playing by the end of season.

Someday I will have my life back.

After Haleigh’s 16th birthday in January, she experienced pounding headaches and spells of vomiting every day up to 6 times per day for almost 3 months.  We now had a different family doctor.  He ordered many tests to be done all of which came back normal.  Again with the “mystery” illness.  He thought she should try Prilosec. This did not help, so he sent us back to Children’s Hospital to the gastroenterologist.  They did an endoscopy and found that she had bile in her stomach and that her stomach lining was irritated – but could not see why.

She was also having constant headaches that did not go along with GI problems, so we were referred back to the concussion clinic. They stated it was too far past the time of the accident for her conditions to be post-concussion symptoms.

Throughout this time we did all that was asked of us, went wherever they sent us, and submitted to every test they recommended. With no questions asked!

Her doctor would just say, “She’s a mystery, maybe we are just chasing our tails with no answers to be found.”

Now it’s 2014, she has missed lots of school. Her teachers could tell she wasn’t well and were very helpful with her class work.

January and February of this year brought on another bout of nonstop vomiting and headaches.  Back to ER more blood tests and scans – all coming back normal.

Now, doctors are mentioning more and more that she must be under stress which is causing all of her ‘mysterious’ new medical conditions. This of course does not make us happy. We know that depression is not the cause of our daughter’s new health issues.  Having doctors claim it is depression is discouraging and depressing all by itself.

Around the middle of Feb 2014, she began to have some type of small seizures.  I came home from work and found her on the floor, very upset and scared.  She said her heart was racing, then her legs went stiff and she fell to floor shaking.

I called the doctor and they sent us to the emergency room. The ER doctor did CAT scan and blood tests and found everything normal. The doctor stated Haleigh obviously had depression which was causing this to all happen.

At this visit we spoke with the hospital counselor. That is when the light came on for us regarding Gardasil.  I discovered that she had her 2nd HPV shot just 4 months before the Jan 2010 stomach issues.

We followed up with the family doctor and asked if it could be the HPV Vaccine.  His answer was, “I’m looking on the VAERS reports right here and I don’t see anything that shows any side effects reported.”

He said he felt it was “conversion disorder” and wrote it down for me.  He said he wasn’t saying she was crazy or doing it on purpose but that her brain was causing all of this to happen.

I asked him right then, “So, what you are saying is that her brain caused her gallbladder to stop functioning?”

His answer was, “That may have been the root cause for all of this. She should go to a psychiatrist so that she has someone that would listen since she’s been through so many mystery illnesses with no answers.”

He also said that he didn’t want to put her through any more test with no answers; that we were just going in circles.

I asked if there was some test that could be done to at least rule out the possibility that her symptoms might be related to Gardasil.

He replied, “We haven’t got one yet.”

In April 2014, Haleigh got very sick again. This time her throat and face started to swell, so we were told to take her to ER where she tested positive for mono.  She was vomiting every day for two weeks, she also had headache and dizziness.

We now have more of an understanding of what is going on with our Haleigh. Just knowing helps us get through this nightmare ride. We hope to get answers by reaching out.

Here is a list of some of her many symptoms throughout the past 4 years:

  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Headache/stabbing headache
  • stabbing abdominal pain
  • Dizziness
  • chest pain
  • fatigue
  • joint pain
  • shortness of breath
  • Racing heart
  • back pain
  • neck pain
  • skin rash
  • seizure symptoms
  • Black outs
  • foot pain
  • bloating/swelling

Here is a partial list of the medications she was given the last 4 years:

  • Amitriptyline
  • Cephalexin
  • flexeril
  • Keflex
  • Meloxicam
  • Promethazine
  • Compazine
  • Naproxen
  • Prilosec dr
  • Ranitidine
  • Zofran

  • Cyproheptadine
  • Prednisone
  • meclizine
  • amoxicillin
  • tramadol
  • imitrex
  • trokendi xr
  • Carafate
  • Sprintec
  • Oxycodone
  • ondansetron

Some of these medications were prescribed many times. Had any of them worked at all for her, we would have stop searching for answers. At this point, reaching out to others who are in similar circumstances is our only hope of obtaining any answers. We have no other option.

I hate the fact that I was made to question my daughter. I hate the fact that the medical community tried to convince me this was simply teen hormones and/or stress.

I cannot begin to describe how difficult it has been to watch her suffer so badly and receive nothing but doubt and excuses from the professional medical community. I can only imagine how difficult it has been for Haleigh.

Nevertheless, Haleigh has stayed strong through the whole ordeal.  She has had the support of family, close friends and teachers.  We will all continue to support her and fight to find answers for her.

Haleigh and Tamara, I am so sorry to hear of your plight. What a trial!  Your fortitude, and exactness, through this time, is truly impressive. It is so nice to hear of the wonderful support from your friends, family and teachers.

Thankfully, you have heard about SaneVax.org. No need to lose any time now.  They will have excellent guidance, and please look through the Featured Doctors section of my blog.  There are individuals healing the world over, and probably best to work with a doctor that is familiar, and successful in caring for like conditions.

I hope you like James Taylor and The Dixie Chics.  I like to share a little music to help you take your mind off things for awhile.

Please know, you are in good hands now, and look ahead to the future.  Your friend, jen  🙂

Spotlight on Gardasil in France#Vaccines#HPV#iBelieve

SaneVax-Featured

By Helen Kimball-Brooke MARH, guest author

A press conference on the Gardasil vaccine was held in Paris on Wednesday the 2nd April 2014 at the local offices of the European Parliament, a short walk from the French National Assembly.  It was organised by MEP Michèle Rivasi (Vice-Chair of the Greens/European Free Alliance group) who has held meetings in the past on pharmacovigilance in Brussels and other press conferences on the aluminium salts used as adjuvants in vaccines, in Paris.  Three members of EFVV (the European Forum for Vaccine Vigilance) attended the conference: myself, Françoise Joët from the French group ALIS and Dr. Françoise Berthoud, retired homeopathic paediatrician from Switzerland.

French Press Conference

Aside from Michèle Rivasi, the speakers included the parents of two HPV-vaccine victims: 18-year-old Marie-Océane Bourguignon who after receiving two doses of Gardasil at age 15 now suffers from multiple sclerosis (MS) and Orianne Lochu, age 21, a former first-year medical student now struggling with severe macrophagic myofasciitis, an illness thought to be linked with the aluminium adjuvants in vaccines.  Both HPV vaccines, Gardasil and Cervarix, contain aluminium salts.  Within months of her jabs, Océane, the only French HPV vaccine victim for whom the link to the vaccine has been officially recognised by a Medicine Injury court, temporarily lost both her sight and the use of her legs after being hospitalised for what appeared to be either acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (ADEM) or multiple sclerosis.

Océane’s case was originally heard by the Bordeaux Commission de Conciliation et d’Indemnisation or Medical Accident Arbitration and Compensation Committee, set up by the Ministry of Justice with members appointed by the local Public Health Authority.  As of the judgement in September 2013 she was awarded compensation amounting to 50% of her claim but given that Sanofi-Pasteur were clearly incriminated in the case and thinking of all the other victims, her parents chose to forfeit the compensation by filing charges in the criminal courts.  The criminal court case is still pending.

The parents of both girls expressed anger and frustration over the way they had been treated: refusal by the medical profession to acknowledge that their daughters’ illnesses had been triggered by the vaccine, lack of support and treatment for the girls’ ailments, even suspicion and ostracism for having dared to blame the vaccine.  The experience has been all the more difficult for Orianne’s parents who are medical professionals themselves: her father is an anaesthesiologist and her mother a nurse.

Océane’s lawyer, Maître Jean-Christophe Coubris, also defending over 100 other French HPV-vaccine victims, was another speaker, as was Serge Rader, a pharmacist who has done research on the widely varying prices of vaccines across Europe, and Elena Pasca, a philosopher, member of the board of Sciences Citoyennes and author of a blog called Pharmacritique, who discussed the conflicts of interest inherent in the development and marketing of these vaccines.

Others present included French medical consultants Profs. Authier and Gherardi, doing research on the aluminium salt adjuvants in vaccines at the Henri-Mondor Hospital in Créteil, a Parisian suburb, and consultant Dr. Laurent Belec, head of the virology laboratory at the Georges Pompidou European Hospital in Paris.  The sudden withdrawal in 2013 of the funding for the important work of Authier and Gherardi was the topic of another press conference organised by Michèle Rivasi last year.  Their funding was only re-instated after two members of the NGO victim support group E3M went on a hunger strike.

Professor Christopher Shaw

The speakers of honour however were Drs. Christopher Shaw, neurologist, and Lucija Tomljenovic, PhD, from the University of British Columbia, Canada, known for their research on Gardasil and the dangers of its adjuvants.  Currently doing research with Professor Yehuda Shoenfeld in Tel Aviv, Israel, on vaccine adjuvant-induced autoimmune diseases, they spoke of the effects on the body of the aluminium in vaccines.  It has been shown that aluminium migrates through the body to the brain, where it accumulates, potentially causing many adverse effects: convulsions, fainting spells, Guillain-Barré syndrome, transverse myelitis, facial paralysis, chronic fatigue syndrome, autoimmune diseases, pulmonary embolisms, macrophagic myofasciitis, pancreatitis and even death.

Lucija Tomljenovic

Dr. Tomljenovic demonstrated how these vaccines were rushed prematurely to market.  In the USA, the FDA approved the vaccine very fast, reflecting, in her opinion, the flaws and incompetence which are now sadly a characteristic of the organisation.  Development of cervical cancer from HPV infection is in fact very slow and 90% of HPV infections resolve of their own accord within three years.  The duration of follow-up in the clinical trials was only 4.5 years for Gardasil and 8.4 years for Cervarix but given the slow growth of these cancers, at least 15 if not 20 years would really be needed to establish accurate efficacy. The manufacturers have nonetheless claimed 70% efficacy based on these short-term trials, and Sanofi-Pasteur, who market Gardasil for its manufacturer Merck, have even claimed ‘up to 100%’ efficacy while true vaccine efficacy could be as low as 16.9%.

STIKO, the German Standing Vaccine Committee’s flawed assumption that the vaccine would confer lifelong protection of 92.5% led to the decision to reimburse the HPV vaccine in Germany and incited many German doctors to recommend it.  Since its introduction 7 years ago, nearly 2 million young French women between the ages of 13 and 26 have received at least one dose of Gardasil, reimbursed at 65% by the Social Security, even though its effectiveness has not yet been proven and is highly controversial.  There are in fact over 100 strains of HPV but Gardasil contains only antigens from strains 6, 11, 16 and 18, considered the most oncogenic.  Strains 16 and 18 are responsible for 70% of cervical cancers which is why these are the only two in Cervarix but infections with these two strains also seem to be less common in Europe.  In fact, cervical cancer represents only 1.7% of all cancers in France so it is not actually a public health problem there anymore.

On the 4th of February 2014 however, President François Hollande announced that as part of his ‘Cancer Plan’, he wanted HPV vaccine uptake amongst young French women to double over the next five years.  This came as an enormous shock to the parents of the 10 girls with very severe neurological complaints, who by November 2013 had already initiated legal proceedings against both Sanofi Pasteur and ANSM, the French national medicines safety authority.

To quote Dr. Tomljenovic:

‘Just as pizza-bearing cheerleader drug reps are a poor substitute for medical education, pharmaceutical lobbying is a poor substitute for well-reasoned public health policy-making….Is it ethical to put young women at risk of death or a disabling autoimmune neurodegenerative disease at a pre-adolescent age for a vaccine that has not yet prevented a single case of cervical cancer, a disease that may develop 20-30 years after exposure to HPV, when the same can be prevented with regular Pap screening which carries no risk?’

The number of HPV vaccine victims continues to grow in France and worldwide, with some countries taking a more cautious stance: Austria refused from the start to include the HPV vaccine in its vaccination schedule and during 2013, under pressure from victims, the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare withdrew its recommendation for the HPV vaccine.  Shortly after the press conference in Paris, it was announced in Japan that instead of reinstating the HPV vaccine recommendation, the authorities would hold off for at least another year.

On the 30th March, only three days before the press conference, it was reported in French newspaper Journal du Dimanche that 420 French doctors plus nearly another 300 pharmacists, midwives and other medical professionals had signed a petition demanding a parliamentary mission to reassess Gardasil, claiming that its effectiveness is limited (only 20% according to clinical trials) and its cost exorbitant. They also fear that the vaccine may mislead women into thinking that a Pap smear, whose effectiveness has been proven, is not necessary.  As of late May 2014, there were nearly 1200 signatures on the petition.

Of course a counter-petition was also launched by seven scholarly medical groups affirming the benefits of the vaccine but speaking of cost: what in fact is the actual cost of this HPV vaccine campaign in France?  Mr. Rader informed us that a single dose of Gardasil costs €123.44, compared with prices ranging from €6.50 to €57 for other French vaccines, the prices of which have increased as new vaccines were introduced over the years.  The three jabs required would therefore come to a whopping total cost of €370.32 per individual.  The duration of protection conferred by the initial vaccination is still not known so the overall cost would increase if boosters were required.  A ‘catch-up’ period could generate a cost to the French Social Security of a shocking €926 million and in subsequent years, the annual cost would be €148 million.  What incites more questions however is that a single dose of Gardasil costs only €60.50 in Italy and the Rotavirus vaccine recently recommended for all new-borns by the French High Council for Public Health, costs €54.60 per dose, including tax, compared with only $1 per dose in India.  Why do vaccines cost so much in France?

Pap smears, costing €15.40 each in France, remain the best and most effective way to fight cervical cancer.  The speakers therefore questioned why the French government was so intent on pushing Gardasil whose effectiveness is debateable and will not be known for 15 or more years, let alone its excessive cost.  An indecent communication campaign with lobbying and aggressive advertising was apparently engaged a number of years ago to promote this vaccine.  The adverts played on the fears and guilt especially of mothers and in 2010, one of them was even banned for ‘lack of objectivity’ by the French Medicines Agency.

Mme. Rivasi therefore concluded the press conference with a forceful:

‘Enough is enough!  It is time to demand a moratorium on this vaccine!   EU member states must stop recommending this vaccine until more studies are conducted on Gardasil, its effectiveness and its dangers.’

Michele Rivasi, MEP

Less than two months later, her efforts seemed finally to be having some effect: on the 22nd May, under pressure from victim support groups, primarily E3M, an NGO supporting patients with macrophagic myofasciitis, two colloquia with round-table debates open to the public and in the presence of the press, television and even French Health Minister Marisol Touraine, were organised at the French National Assembly: one in the morning by E3M and facilitated by journalist Viginie Belle, the other in the afternoon by Office parlementaire des choix scientifiques et technologiques (Opecst, similar to our House of Commons Science and Technology Committee).

A fair number of the speakers from the April press conference (Gherardi, Authier, Shoenfeld, Orianne Lochu’s mother, Tomljenovic, Belec, Rivasi) took part, alongside representatives from Sanofi-Pasteur, GSK, the French government and other scientists promoting vaccines.  Pro-caution and pro-choice scientists also included our own Prof. Christopher Exley from Keele University, Dr. Lluis Lujan, veterinary pathologist from the University of Zaragoza in Spain and Prof. Michel Georget, French biologist and author of books on the adverse effects of vaccines.

Topics of the four round-table debates: 1) Aluminium: Adjuvant under Scrutiny. 2) HPV Vaccine: Time to Exercise Caution, in the morning.  Then in the afternoon: 1) The Safety and Efficacy of Aluminium Vaccine Adjuvants.  2.a) Is a Moratorium Appropriate?  2.b) Are there Alternative Vaccine Adjuvants?

For those who speak French, these debates can be viewed here: http://videos.assemblee-nationale.fr/video.5464.  Compared with our House of Commons Science and Technology Committee’s Evidence Check into Homeopathy in 2009, this series of debates seemed far more balanced!  The focus in France seems at present to be only on aluminium, which may not be the only issue but time will tell as to where it takes the whole French and European vaccine debate.

Knowing that the French Health Minister attended these colloquia and is therefore now fully aware of the latest research on the damage caused by aluminium adjuvants and the Gardasil vaccine, it came as a shock when instead of calling for a moratorium she later reaffirmed the French government’s intent to vaccinate all young French women with this vaccine.  Yet another debate was then organised on the 23rd of June by a group of galvanised GPs from La Réunion island, one of France’s overseas departments.  The thrust of this series of medical and statistical presentations, again hosted by Michèle Rivasi, was that HPV vaccination is not needed to prevent cervical cancer, is excessively costly and the whole vaccine development and marketing process is fraught with conflicts of interest.  Gardasil is clearly a hot topic in France with articles, blogs, petitions and debates appearing frequently.  The doctors, researchers, support groups and victims behind these are not about to give up the fight for both a moratorium on Gardasil and aluminium-free vaccines in general.

Remember that in the USA and the UK, HPV and other vaccine victims are fortunate to have SaneVax (http://www.sanevax.org) who in addition to providing the necessary information for making an informed choice, can locate appropriate medical/legal assistance in the event of an adverse event post-vaccination.

Since the April press conference, the EFVV has prepared a Manifesto in English, French, Spanish, Italian, German, Dutch and Slovenian (other languages possibly to follow), demanding the abolition of mandatory vaccination in the EU (see http://www.efvv.eu).  The plan is to launch a petition based on this Manifesto and a delegation of EFVV members will be meeting with Michèle Rivasi in September to discuss the best way to utilise these documents and submit their demands to the European Parliament.  Watch this space, both in France and Europe-wide.
