Susan McCreadie, MD: I Rest Easier NOT Vaccinating my Children#android#iPad#retweet

by Susan McCreadie, MD

Since finishing my pediatric training, I have come to realize that you can find evidence to support your decision to vaccinate or not to vaccinate.

When I started my pediatric practice fresh out of residency, I was a primary care physician and offered vaccinations to those families who chose to vaccinate their children. I actually gave the children the vaccines myself (I’m so glad I no longer do that – I truly disliked that part of my job!).

I was also one of the parents who chose to vaccinate my child. I did educate myself about the pros and cons of vaccines, and felt I still needed to vaccinate Kaitlin (my oldest), but selectively vaccinate and on an alternative schedule (one vaccine per month).

After the 5th  vaccine, her eczema continued to worsen. I started to have the uncomfortable feeling of having to step outside the lines of what the standard medical   community recommended, on behalf of the health of my child. I have always been a rule follower, so naturally stepping outside ‘the standard of care’ was very   uncomfortable for me…

Opinion: Why we object to mandatory vaccination measure#android#iPad#retweet

This is a dramatic sudden push for less individual freedom, especially when no epidemic is present.  New Jersey has the largest percentage of vaccine compliance than any other state, and they require more vaccines than any other state.  Interestingly, they have the highest autism rate of any other state as well.  A rush to force the remaining small percentage to vaccinate seems hasty.

BY LOUISE KUO HABAKUS

People do not opt out of vaccination lightly. They do so for reasons that define who they are.

NEW Jersey’s lawmakers want to make it harder for parents to opt out of vaccines. This is a very bad idea. It erodes our rights and promotes increased government intrusion into our private religious, parental and medical affairs. The bill is discriminatory, dangerous and expensive. And it won’t work.

Government shouldn’t judge whether our religious beliefs are sincere. Government shouldn’t prohibit religious beliefs from addressing issues of safety, cleanliness or bodily integrity. Government shouldn’t compel citizens to choose a religion and stick to it forever. And government shouldn’t require someone else to approve our beliefs in order to make them legitimate.

And yet, these things are precisely what Trenton wants to do…

The Scary Facts Most Parents Don’t Know About Vaccine Injury Compensation#Family#Android#iPad

by Missy Fleugge

Vaccine injures and adverse reactions are massively under-reported, as admitted by the Centers for Disease Control. Estimates show that only one to ten percent of vaccine injuries and deaths are actually filed with the government.

In the United States, the government has created a database to keep track of hundreds of kinds of reactions to vaccinations, including fevers, soreness, seizures, swelling of the brain, arthritis, and death. Since its inception, this program has awarded over $2.5 billion to individuals and families who have suffered vaccine injury and death. These awards are funded by taxes on vaccines.  [1]

Even though health care providers are required by law to report vaccine injuries, most of these adverse events are not made public in this database, known as the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS). Parents may not know that common reactions to vaccines, including fevers, long bouts of crying, or rashes following vaccination should be reported to their child’s doctor. When a more serious adverse event occurs, parents may be too overwhelmed to make sure a report is filed.

Unfortunately, rather than educating doctors and parents about the importance of reporting all adverse reactions to vaccines to the VAERS database, the US government has just tightened the requirements for reporting an adverse reaction, making the process even more difficult…

Vaccine McCarthyism. What if the Vaccine Paradigm itself is Deliberately Flawed?#iBelieve#iPad#Android

By Dr. Gary Null and Richard Gale

Within the mainstream medical and scientific community there is an unassailable pseudo-truth that vaccines are safe and effective, whether administered individually or in combination. Within the vaccine injured children and autism movements there is also an unchallenged belief that vaccines are effective but not always safe. In this case, vaccine-injured children or adult family members were simply one of the rare cases where they received a hot lot vaccine or possessed biomolecular abnormalities, such as mitochondria dysfunction, and suffered the consequences. Even many parents with two children developing neurological complications after vaccination, will continue to follow the recommended vaccine schedule. Any medical physician, scientist, nurse, public health advocate, politician, or journalist who questions the myth of vaccine safety and efficacy are often immediately attacked, ridiculed, and designated a conspirator.  In fact, the pro-vaccine propaganda machine sends forth articulate doctors and university scientists to engage in ad hominin personal attacks against vaccine dissenters…

9 Ways to Boost Your Confidence When Your Doctor Pressures to Vaccinate#Pregnancy#iPad#Android

by Missy Fluegge

Contrary to what some doctors and officials might tell you, your child does not need shots to attend public school. Legally, you can receive a vaccine exemption in all fifty states.

Sometimes, even in states with stricter laws, getting the vaccine exemption is the easy part. The hard part, for some parents, is having that conversation with a doctor and just saying no to vaccines.

One government survey revealed that over 28 percent of parents question, delay, or refuse vaccines, including nine percent who accept a vaccine for their child even though they are not comfortable with it. Don’t allow yourself to be part of the nine percent who accepted a vaccine under pressure…

Measles in Disneyland: Third MMR Shot and Vaccine Exemption Ban?#Family#Measles#Pregnancy

by Barbara Loe Fisher

There have been hundreds of media stories published in the U.S. and around the world since Jan. 14, 2015, the day after it was first reported that visitors to Disneyland got measles and presumably infected other people in California, Washington, Utah and Colorado.1 Like wildfire, the story spread globally even though there was – and still is – limited information about the 51 lab-confirmed cases of measles public health officials say are linked to the happiest place on earth. According a Jan. 23 Health Advisory issued by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), “no source case for the outbreak has been identified.” 2

Demonizing of Parents and Their Children
The U.S. has a population of more than 320 million people and 38 million people live in California, so it is curious why a handful of measles cases prompted one California newspaper to quickly place blame on parents making informed vaccine choices, calling them “ignorant” and engaged in a “self-absorbed rejection of science.” 3 Astroturfers 4 and trolls 5 6 saw that kind of talk as a green light to do more of it on public comment boards, suggesting that children with vaccine-related brain injuries are genetic mutants and calling mothers of vaccine injured children “liars” and “witches.” 7
