HPV Vaccination Program in Colombia: Undermining the Truth?#Family#Vaccines#Columbia

SaneVax-FeaturedHundreds of young women in Carmen de Bolivar, Colombia ended up in hospitals since the administration of the second dose of Gardasil beginning in schools on March 20, 2014. Local newspapers report as many as 700 girls being sent to emergency rooms after receiving Gardasil over the last few months.

According to a local school teacher:

The girls in Carmen de Bolivar received their first dose of Gardasil in July 2013, after which reported reactions were similar to other vaccines (redness, swelling, pain at the injection site, etc…). The second dose was administered on the 20th of March 2014. Several girls reacted immediately and much more severely, reporting dizziness, syncope, and severe headaches. By May 29th to the 30th, the situation had turned into a full-blown crisis with scores of girls being admitted to local emergency room facilities to be treated for fainting, shortness of breath, weakness in the limbs etc…

No one seems to know what instigated this epidemic number of hospital visits. Government health officials emphatically denied that Gardasil could be causing the extraordinary number of new medical conditions. Instead, they put forth theories such as lead poisoning, mass hysteria and even too much Ouija board use.

Parents of the affected girls did not agree with any of these theories. They knew the only thing that had recently changed in their daughters’ life was the administration of the second dose of the HPV vaccine, Gardasil.

Hundreds of parents took to the streets in peaceful demonstrations to demand investigations; others burned tires in protest, blocking a main road connecting a coastal town with the interior. For the first time in the history of Colombia, perhaps the world, parents launched massive public protests over the administration of a vaccine that is apparently making people sick instead of protecting them. Parents of affected children suspected Health Minister Alejandro Gaviria of being less than truthful, being misinformed, or simply protecting special interest groups supporting the use of Gardasil and they were not shy about stating their suspicions in any public forum they could gain access to.

Health Minister Gaviria accused media representatives of contributing to the creation of an epidemic of ’mass hysteria’ and publicly requested journalists and media personnel to exercise ’more responsible journalism.’

Sunday, October 5, 2014, Alda Mera, reporter for El Pais, published an article titled, The HPV vaccine saves lives, Nubia Muñoz Calero. Reporter Alda Mera apparently thought there was no one better to allay the fears of Colombian parents than an epidemiologist who had been born, raised and educated in Colombia, who had participated in cancer research for more than 30 years and been nominated to receive a Nobel Prize for her work. This medical scientist was Dr. Nubia Muñoz Calero. (read her biography here)

Unfortunately, the article published as a result of reporter Alda Mera’s interview with Dr. Nubia Muñoz Calero continues to market HPV vaccines via fear, not facts.

Please examine the statements from Alda’s article below when compared with documented factual information:

According to Dr. Muñoz Calero, when asked if Colombia understands the importance of her discovery that HPV causes cervical cancer, the good doctor states, ”I am not the inventor of (HPV) vaccines, pharmaceutical companies developed them. I have no commercial interest in them.”

FACT:  What Dr. Muñoz Calero fails to mention is that she is a member of the Merck HPV Global Advisory Board. This may not be what one would technically call a commercial interest. However, it does constitute a substantial conflict of interest when one is being portrayed as an independent scientific expert. (verify here) Why did Reporter Alda Mera not disclose this information?

According to Dr. Muñoz Calero, her contribution was to demonstrate with well-planned epidemiological studies that the human papillomavirus is the main and necessary cause of cervical cancer.

FACT:  Epidemiological studies never prove causation. They cannot prove that a specific risk factor actually causes the disease being studied. Epidemiological evidence can only show that this risk factor is associated (correlated) with a higher incidence of disease in the population exposed to that risk factor. The higher the correlation the more certain the association, but an epidemiological study cannot prove causation. (verify here)

It is also important to note that papers published prior to FDA approval of Gardasil refer to HPV as being ’associated with’ the development of cervical cancer. It was only after FDA approval of Gardasil that ’scientific’ papers began to refer to human papillomavirus as being ’causally associated’ with the development of cervical cancer. This phrase soon morphed into HPV being ’the main and necessary cause’ of cervical cancer. According to Dr. Muñoz Calero, she had helped identify the two types of HPV (human papillomavirus) responsible for 70% of cervical cancer.

FACT:  What the esteemed doctor failed to mention is the fact that the two types identified may not be the prevalent types in the Colombian population. If HPV 16/18 are not the prevalent types in Colombian women, any effect Gardasil may have on the prevalence of cervical cancer in her country would diminish substantially. (verify here)

According to Dr. Muñoz Calero, when asked about the safety demonstrated during the clinical trials of Gardasil, she stated, ”As an intramuscular injection (Gardasil) produces some pain in 80% of girls, heat and redness in the arm. A small percentage have headaches and fevers, 10% for maybe one or two days. But these 40,000 women (who participated in clinical trials) did not suffer syncope, fainting, or diseases that (are) now blamed on the vaccine.

FACT:  According to documentation presented to the FDA prior to Gardasil approval in the United States, 73.3% of clinical trial participants who received Gardasil reported new medical conditions after vaccine administration. It is interesting to note that 76.3% of those who received the so-called ’placebo’ also reported new medical conditions after injection. The problem here is that the ’placebo’ used was not an inert substance – it consisted of the brand new (not safety tested) proprietary aluminum adjuvant Merck developed for use in Gardasil and a ’carrier’ solution with undisclosed ingredients. The only thing these clinical trials proved was that Gardasil was no less dangerous than the adjuvant used in Gardasil. Many of the new medical conditions reported during clinical trials are the same ones being reported around the world after Gardasil administration. According to Dr. Muñoz Calero, when asked whether Gardasil had been rushed to market, stated that the laboratories created the first human papillomavirus vaccine at the end of the 90’s, and began phase I and II clinical trials before 2000.

FACT: Merck’s development program for the HPV quadrivalent vaccine for prevention of cervical cancer was granted fast track designation in 2002. Merck initiated phase 3 clinical trials of the HPV quadrivalent vaccine in 2002. (verify here) This fast track designation was granted despite the fact that Merck’s proposed vaccine did not meet any of the criteria required for fast track approval. (verify here)

According to Dr. Muñoz Calero, when asked about the adverse reactions being reported in Colombia, says she does not know in detail what is happening in Carmen de Bolivar because she does not live in the country; but based on what she’s read and been told by colleagues….200,000 million doses have been distributed (not necessarily administered) in the world. WHO, PAHO, FDA and EMA say that Gardasil is safe and there is no scientific evidence showing (that it) triggers autoimmune diseases (Guillán-Barre syndrome, multiple sclerosis, transverse myelitis).

FACT:  There may be no concrete scientific proof that HPV vaccines are triggering and/or causing the adverse events being reported in every country where they are administered. However, there is also no scientific proof that HPV vaccines are NOT causing these new medical conditions either. There is no such thing as an epidemic of coincidence.

The SaneVax team would like Dr. Muñoz Calero to explain why biologically plausible mechanisms of action that could explain new medical conditions occurring after the administration of HPV vaccines presented by scientists and medical researchers around the globe is not being investigated thoroughly by any of the alphabet organizations she mentions which all have vested interests in mass administration of one of the most expensive vaccines ever produced. Near the end of the interview, Dr. Muñoz Calero is asked if it would be a good idea to stop mass HPV vaccinations in Colombia until after investigations to determine which children are at risk for adverse reactions. She states:

No. It would be a mistake to stop the program. Countries that achieve the highest coverage are those with school-based programs. What I recommend is to increase education programs for physicians, media, and communities. Make them understand that this vaccine is the best weapon against cervical cancer.

Dr. Muñoz Calero, since when is it a mistake to apply the precautionary principle to the administration of a medical intervention of any kind?

Anyone with an ounce of compassion would be fighting to protect the continued health and well-being of the young girls in their native land; NOT fighting to preserve the uptake of a vaccine which might be responsible for epidemic numbers of health problems.

The new medical conditions occurring after Gardasil administration must be investigated thoroughly before any more young women are subjected to devastating potential risks in exchange for the highly debatable promise of a reward 20 years down the road.

The latest ’medical miracle’ can wait until after independent investigations determine it to be safe.

By the way, there is a huge difference between being ’anti-vaccine’ and supporting vaccine safety.

If a pharmaceutical company cannot market their products based on facts, they should not be allowed to market them at all!

Her name is María Paula Mejía, college student. Since receiving three doses of Gardasil her health has deteriorated considerably. She now suffers from constant pain throughout her body, muscle weakness, and bleeding from the nose and gums. She has so much pain in her left knee and ankle that she must walk with a cane, and cannot continue her college education. Paula is one of the first in Colombia to report serious new medical conditions occurring after the use of Gardasil.

Lloyd Phillips, an American researcher of infectious diseases and genetics, has studied the adverse effects of Gardasil for five years. His work has revealed how Gardasil works differently in different people. He has documented related and biologically plausible mechanisms of action which could cause the many serious and life-threatening side effects which are being reported by girls and young women around the world after receiving the HPV vaccine.

In Colombia we have a potential crisis of major proportions resulting from the use of Gardasil because it is “free and compulsory” by “Law of the Republic”. It is assumed that this HPV vaccine is effective when used to combat cervical cancer, which can be caused by human papilloma virus. However, this vaccine has been hotly debated internationally for allegedly being dangerous and ineffective. It is currently being administered in Colombia without obtaining informed consent from young girls and their parents as to the potential and unknown risks of use.

The director of vaccination at MOH (Ministry of Health), Alejandro Garcia, says the government is “confident in the report of the World Health Organization,” which gives the go-ahead to the vaccine and assures that there is no association between the developments of illness and application of the vaccine.

Lina Trujillo of the Colombian Cancer Institute says that the vaccine protects exclusively against HPV and “does not remove the possibility of having other diseases, and adolescence is the time at which diseases such as lupus and rheumatoid arthritis start to appear,” and that “the only contraindication is ‘pregnancy’ and specialists have no hesitation in recommending the vaccine.”

However, neither the director of the Ministry of Health nor Lina Trujillo, from the Colombian Cancer Institute seem to be informed about how the vaccine is produced, and much less about the potential side effects of Gardasil.

The World Health Organization, whose reports are practically the Bible of the Gardasil vaccination policy in Colombia, has been suggested to be complicit with the pharmaceutical industry in general and the Gardasil manufacturer in particular in urging promotion of HPV vaccination campaigns. Relying on the pharmaceutical industry to self-regulate has historically been a losing proposition for the public when companies are left to weigh profits against transparency.

The María Paula Mejía case is illustrative in this regard. She had a third dose of the vaccine, even though she had experienced adverse symptoms after the first two injections. The third injection is when her serious symptoms began.

Interviewed via Skype, with visible signs of pain and discomfort from the effort of sitting upright in a chair, she told us the symptoms she experienced after the third dose of vaccine.

During the first 15 days after her third injection she experienced fever, vomiting, diarrhea, bone pain, joint pain, migraines, tingling, electrical “zaps” on her hip and back, and neck pain. One day she was unable to move for 2 hours, and continues to suffer from insomnia and dizziness. María Paula had every expectation that the symptoms would abate or at least become less intense, but instead they progressed in severity.

At her medical appointments, during which she was subjected to more than 40 laboratory tests, the medical diagnosis was unanimous: All tests were perfectly “normal”, she had nothing … while her symptoms worsened.

The symptoms she was already experiencing were followed by more severe ones, which included progressively spreading joint and bone pain, worsened neck pain, scalp pain, continuing severe hip, back, and knee pain. She began to suffer loss of strength in the left leg, wrist pain, dizziness, neuralgia throughout the body, painful spinal “zaps” as well as continuation of the “zaps” in her hips and limbs. She began to suffer difficulty breathing at certain times of day, chest pain, bleeding in the nose and gums, deviation of the left knee and left ankle, and new complications from older problems.

Through all these symptoms, medical observations and tests were useless in arriving at a diagnosis until a doctor thought to ask: “Has she been recently vaccinated?”

It was then that María Paula first made the association between the vaccine and her new medical condition. And she was not mistaken.

She is currently overwhelmed by pain, has difficulty walking and feels her health is deteriorating more and more. Her symptoms are consistent with those being reported after Gardasil around the world. Although not all are affected equally, of all girls who are vaccinated, a percentage of them will suffer severe effects from Gardasil, which can lead to paralysis and even death.

Neither Merck, the manufacturer, nor the Colombian government agrees that the vaccine is causing these severe symptoms. Both simply raise an accusatory finger at those who denounce this situation, as if the victims did not exist.

The reproductive health of girls and Colombian youth’s rights are being denied to those injected with Gardasil. This is not acceptable, particularly since government support for HPV vaccines has been withdrawn in other countries, such as Japan, for example, because of concerns about serious adverse reactions including infertility.

What’s more, says researcher Lloyd Phillips, if a girl who already has HPV is vaccinated, her risk of getting cancer could substantially increase.

Colombian doctors do NOT know, or refuse to accept, the risks of this vaccine. Treatment for victims is nonexistent.

This is what the U.S. researcher Lloyd Phillips explained to me about Gardasil:

The vaccine uses an aluminum adjuvant because in 1920 a man named Glinny discovered that aluminum stimulated the immune system. A Frenchman named Ramón then discovered that if the aluminum-containing vaccine was given to a horse that had an infection, the immune system produced an even greater amount of antibodies.

Phillips found that aluminum remaining in the system after Gardasil injections can cause an enhanced and extended immune response against infections and illnesses that occurred long ago.

This enhanced response can cause inflammation in the body, especially in the digestive system, and can cause the immune system to wrongfully identify food proteins as foreign. The body then begins to produce histamine to combat what it perceives as a food allergy, causing stomach pain and dilating blood vessels, which can cause dizziness and excessive heart pounding upon standing up.

The result, according to Phillips, is that the more inflamed a digestive tract becomes, the more its ability to absorb nutrients needed to maintain the chemical cycles in the body can become impaired, which can lead to fatal consequences.

Phillips also notes that the body cannot distinguish between inflammation and fear, either of which can trigger the “fight or flight response” which forces the person to excrete magnesium, causing a deficiency. This deficiency has many symptoms, such as muscle spasms, pain, irritability, cardiac arrhythmias, headaches, brittle bones, and more.

In short, says the researcher, this type of vaccine was made ​​for people with “a genetically perfect immune system,” which does not exist in reality.

Gardasil can produce all of these symptoms to varying degrees according to the genetic make-up and medical condition of the person who receives the vaccine, which can vary from hour to hour. This is something neither Merck, nor the Colombian government is telling the public.

In the case of María Paula, as she will recount, when she received the first dose, she was never warned that any of the symptoms she is now suffering were possible. She says:

“They told me that I could have pain in my arm for a week and that I had to wait 15 minutes before leaving the Cancer League, because some girls fainted and the next week was going to be uncomfortable, but that it was normal because of the vaccine… I received the second dose and the second dose hurt a little more … the next few months I began to experience fatigue and back pain, but I thought it was because of my daily activities … I had pain in the lower back and neck … I received the third dose on 20 January of this year and the pain was much greater than in the previous two doses … I began to experience several things … immediately after being vaccinated I began to experience dizziness, I wanted to throw up, obviously my arm really hurt … they warned me about the dizziness, and the urge to vomit and the arm pain and that the next day my arm was also going to hurt, but the following week I had fever, vomiting, diarrhea, extremely strong migraines that lasted 15 days with vomiting, and diarrhea…, I went to the doctor and was told that that there was a virus going around… one night I sat on the couch in my house and then I lay down; I started feeling really bad, very feverish, until I realized that I could not get up from the couch “…

 María Paula’s symptoms seem to get worse with each passing day. For the moment, the only hope she has of improving is going to the U.S. to receive treatment.

In Colombia there is no protocol to treat these cases. The government says they do not exist.

And what is the role of Merck, the manufacturer of the vaccine?

According to Lloyd Phillips, company profits are what motivates the existence of this vaccine and its advertising campaigns, due to lawsuits against Merck as a result of VIOXX, a drug that caused 27,000 heart attacks. A single dose of Gardasil may cost about 68 cents to produce (about $ 1360 pesos), and in Colombia obtaining it privately costs the equivalent of $60 (roughly $120 thousand pesos) and in the USA up to $ 200 (about 400 thousand pesos).

The Colombian government has spent $300 million on a questionable vaccine that is already starting to claim apparent victims in Colombia. Following Lloyd Phillips’ statistics, of the $300 million paid by Colombia, $ 298.98 million (nearly $299 million) was profit for Merck.

Colombia is purchasing the HPV vaccine at a hugely inflated price. This vaccine can not only ruin lives, but can cost thousands of dollars to bring a single victim back to health. Families may have to spend thousands of dollars trying to restore their daughters’ health, without having prevented any cancer as promised, and instead causing a number of illnesses that did not exist before using this ‘miracle’ vaccine.

We are then faced with a health emergency induced by a vaccine that has never been proven to prevent any cancer and that is ravaging the children and youth around the world, against which there have been million-dollar awards for HPV vaccine injury in the U.S. (The U.S. government has already paid more than six million dollars to victims) and the vaccine has been rejected in several countries, for example in India and Japan.

But in Colombia, Gardasil will continue to claim more casualties unless an immediate halt to its “free and compulsory” status is granted.

The Colombian government is exposing itself to millions of dollars in lawsuits for its actions in making this vaccine mandatory to Colombian girls and women without informing them of the grave risks already known worldwide.

Does the government of Colombia intend to ignore medical consumers’ right to informed consent, despite knowing the consequences?

Last year the Huffington Post did an article stating that Columbia is the happiest country in the world.  A recent, on-going act by the country’s health department could bring the country’s pleasantries to a screeching halt.  What I cannot fathom, is how 300 million dollars are spent on one vaccine for the country.  I can only imagine how much better spent those monies could be used in bettering the lives of it’s people.  Unfortunately, this vaccine is a scam of the highest order.  Youth, and families the world over are being ravaged by it’s effect.

I hope the health, and government authorities do not put so much faith in organizations wreaked with havoc, and corruption.  I would hate to see such a lovely, and happy country lose much of it’s healthy, family-oriented lifestyle that brings them so much joy, and admiration from the world over.

María Paula Mejía, thank you for sounding the alarm to your countrymen.  I am certain there will be many prayers, and hopes sent your way.  I am so sorry your happy, and exciting college life is being turned upside down.

Gardasil: No Side Effects?

I am a 29 year old girl from Denmark who was harmed by the HPV vaccine Gardasil… Here is my story:

For as long as I can remember I have struggled with my mind. I have Paranoid Schizophrenia. It hasn’t always been easy being me. Whatever I have experienced in the past bears no comparison with how I am feeling now as it is no longer a mental problem but a physical problem and this change in my health has occurred after being vaccinated with Gardasil.

Because I was infected with a strain of the HPV virus and developed cervical dysplasia, I had to have a cone biopsy. After my surgery the doctor very kindly but firmly said that I should get this new vaccine because I was in the risk zone.  I went home and thought about it but decided not to get it because it was very expensive.

After a year or two the Danish government decided to make the vaccine free for girls in my age group but it was a time limited offer so I contacted my doctor to hear more about it.  I asked her if there were any side effects but she just replied,

“No, this vaccine has no side effects. You may get some redness or swelling at the injection site but nothing else.” 

When a doctor says that, you believe it, so I got the first shot on 16th October 2012.

In the evening I began to feel sick, I had nausea and I threw up and developed a fever and chills. This continued for 3 days. When I finally felt a little better from having the fever, I began to feel dizzy and for no apparent reason I would just blackout out of the blue. When I had fainted 3 times I went to the doctor (not even thinking it could be the vaccine).  She took some metabolism tests because I have low metabolism and some additional tests to check out the vitamins in my body and to see if perhaps I was becoming a diabetic.   Every single test was fine but she said that my metabolism could be too low and even although the tests were fine she decided to increase the dosage of this particular medication I was taking.  As I fainted a couple of times more I went back to the doctor again and her conclusion at that time was that it could be a virus or something wrong with my ears.

It was time for my second shot on 17th December 2012. When I arrived at the doctor’s office, I asked the guy who was going to give me the shot if the influenza symptoms I had last time could be because of the vaccine. He said that the vaccine didn’t have any side effects and he had never heard of anybody getting ill, so it must have been influenza.

The same thing happened again. I got so sick but this time I also had a very powerful stomach pain. The weeks following this shot I just felt so awful, I was so dizzy that people actually thought I was drunk.  I began to have daily headaches and sometimes had a bad migraine. I couldn’t concentrate, had trouble remembering things, got extremely tired and could sleep anywhere any time. But not even then did I make the possible connection with the vaccine.

I went to the doctor about 10 times more, all regarding the symptoms above, but she said the same thing each time: “I can’t do any more for you Sanni. You have to contact an audiologist.” 

But in the middle of it all I was moving home and I had to put everything on hold until I was settled in my new home.

On 10th April 2013, it was time for my third and final shot.  I had a new doctor and I asked him the same thing I had asked my previous doctor, if the cause of my symptoms were the vaccine. My doctor answered with the same answer: “No, this vaccine has no side effects.”

So I went ahead and got the final shot.

Of course the same thing happened this time also, I got very ill, and with the same symptoms as the second time I had the shot.

When the influenza-like symptoms were over, I began fainting a lot again. I was very dizzy and couldn’t hold my balance. I got more and more tired, developed breathing problems and hyperventilated a lot. I didn’t have the strength for anything anymore and even my daily walks with my dog or playing with my stepson became impossible.  I was afraid to walk up and down our stairs so I didn’t get out as I used to. So I went back to the doctor, who did a billion tests and of course all of them were fine.

The whole family was in the yard and I decided to go down to meet them. We were just standing there chatting and suddenly I got very dizzy and blacked out. My mother in law saw what happened to me.  She rang 911 (or 112 here in Denmark) and they came very quickly. My blood pressure and ECG were fine but they decided to take me to the hospital anyway. At the hospital they did a lot of tests, but found nothing.

My boyfriend, family and myself were now feeling very uneasy and scared at what was going on. My family is just becoming so nervous at letting me be alone in case I should fall and injure myself badly. They watch over me constantly. 

I have always been a happy girl who could do whatever she set her mind to, but now I have to think very carefully about attempting daily tasks.  My bicycle days are over and I can’t even take the train because I am scared I will fall down onto the rails.

After Gardasil, I have had many problems but the one thing that stands out in my mind was when I had problems with serious cramps in my legs, paralysis in my legs and the feeling I got in my legs when I woke up in the morning and had to actually beat them to get them to waken up. Fortunately it’s “only” a sleeping sensation in my legs now, I haven’t got the same problems anymore… but the symptoms keep on coming and changing every week.

My whole life has changed. The life I could have had is always on my mind. What if I had not been vaccinated would I then have been able to get a job?  What if I had just listened to my subconscious worries, would I then have been able to have a child? 

A lot of things keep going through my mind and I can’t stop blaming myself a little bit for not researching this vaccine a bit more. But when I get mad at myself I try to turn this anger towards the company that made this vaccine, the government that provides the vaccine and the doctors who keep on wrongly reassuring young girls that this vaccine is safe and has no side effects.

But in my entire struggle there is some light ahead.  I had an appointment at the neurologist’s office today and as a birthday gift I finally got that (referral) that I have been asking for, for the last year.  I got a (referral) to the hospital for a tilt table test (vippelejetest) to establish whether I have POTS (Postural Tachycardia Syndrome) because of my fast heart rate and the trouble I am having with dizziness when I am standing up and of course the number of times I have fainted. I have also received a referral to yet another hospital to establish whether I have some neurological damage. I am so happy, finally I am getting somewhere.

Now I just need to get even better, it’s not easy, but I’m a fighter!

I really feel for all the girls all over the world that were harmed by this vaccine. I never ever thought that this could happen to me. I am sure they did not think they could be hurt either. Like them, I trusted my doctors, I trusted them when they said that the vaccine was safe, I trusted them when they said there were no side-effects.

Now I am much wiser, I just wish there had been somebody who had told me the truth before I decided to go ahead with the Gardasil vaccine.

Sanni, it is evident that you are a bright and determined girl.  I can’t help but think that you are teaching the doctors and so many around you. Hopefully, the word will spread to doctors that Gardasil/Silgard and Cervarix have had severe and numerous side effects in many cases.  These drugs should have been taken off the market ages ago.  It is nothing short of a crime that they are on medical  shelves today.

I hope your doctors learn from what you and others in Denmark are going through.  Sometimes people can be so blind of the obvious around them, and it becomes deeply frustrating to those in pain. I am so sorry you have had to endure this trial.  I am certain you will make a difference in another individual’s life and they will not have to endure this same trial, due to your honesty and strength of character.

Prior to Natasja being vaccinated with Gardasil, she led a very active and healthy lifestyle.  Now please see what has happened to her since the Gardasil vaccine was injected into her body.

My daughter Natasja had the three shots of Gardasil in May, August and December of 2011.

After her second shot she started having severe headaches, tunnel vision and short term loss of her peripheral vision.   I went to the doctor as I was concerned.  Natasja developed a sore throat after her third vaccination. She could not eat and was in a lot of pain throughout her body.  My daughter was very ill for 14 days.

Natasja’s pains did not diminish throughout 2012 and the level of her pain increased.  This continued and there did not appear to be any respite. As we continued into the early part of 2013 her health deteriorated. The pain was constant and she had sensory disturbances on the right side of her face and down her right arm along with blurred vision and severe headaches.    Natasja was hospitalized and after a lumbar puncture was diagnosed with a neurological disorder and Borrelia, otherwise known as Lyme disease.

That was the very first diagnosis we had received.  The situation did not improve throughout 2013. Things just became more frustrating as her symptoms seemed to increase all the time.  Her headaches became more painful, she was nauseous, vomiting a lot of the time, having heart palpitations and finding it very difficult to concentrate.  There was hardly a part of Natasja’s body that was not painful. 

We were of course attending the doctor or being admitted again into hospital.  She was also starting to get some physiotherapy.  Her second diagnosis in March of 2013 was severe pain and benign intracranial increased pressure.

The year did not get any better. Natasja’s pains became more severe. Her knee joints would swell up (see picture) and at times she could hardly manage to get upstairs.  Her stomach cramps increased and she was having serious diarrhoea.  During this time we were consulting a Rheumatologist and also a hormone specialist who was concerned about Natasja’s size and height.

In August 2013, Natasja was hospitalized again as she was still having serious headaches and continued to be nauseous.  This time she was diagnosed with Cephalalgia which is described as a pain in her head caused by dilation of cerebral arteries or muscle contractions or a reaction to drugs.

The headaches and feeling sick continued and was truly disrupting her life.  She was still losing feeling in her left leg but as always the doctor had no idea why this was happening.  This doctor wanted to try and keep a watchful eye on how she was progressing and I did mention to him about the HPV vaccine.  Natasja was put on to another drug, amitriptyline 10 mg which was to be increased until she was on seven tablets a day. 

She was still going to school, or trying to, but it was becoming increasingly difficult for her to do so.  The school was very good in that they provided a bed for her to have a rest if she needed to.  Eventually they allowed our daughter to go for a few hours per day and to attend in classes that would not be too difficult for her.

Then in October 2013, Natasja had to be admitted again to Frederiksberg Hospital and this time she was diagnosed as having POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome). This condition is an abnormality of the functioning of the autonomic (involuntary) nervous system.  Some of the medications she is on do not appear to be helping and they will be reviewing these and making changes as and when they think it is right to do so. 

Natasja has lost of a lot of weight and her body is bloated as if there is a lot of fluid retention.  Her legs are particularly vulnerable to this swelling.

Things do not improve as we go into 2014.  To allow our daughter to sleep we had to call the emergency medical service who gave her a morphine tablet.  In January, she was re-admitted to hospital, yet again. 

This is a list of the symptoms she has experienced since being vaccinated.

  • Dizziness and confusion, difficulty concentrating;
  • Sleeplessness;

  • Sweating and freezing at the same time;   cold fingers and legs; trembling hands;
  • Chest pains and palpitations; feeling pressure in her chest; heartburn;
  • Nauseous almost all of the time; frequent v omitting;
  • Muscular, stomach, leg pains;
  • Bloated body and swollen legs, difficulty in walking;
  • Tension and pain in neck and back;
  • Swollen tonsils, swollen lymph nodes;
  • Mouth ulcers, dry mouth;
  • Fatigue, feeling faint;
  • High pulse; heart throbbing.

Update since Natasja was released from hospital

Natasja is now home. They could not find the reason for her symptoms. They have only tried psychiatric treatment and she’s been promised a ski trip with the hospital on the 5th April 2014 to France so she can mix socially with others and try physical exercise.

She has her ups and downs, with pain worst in her knees, stomach and head. She has started home schooling run by the school. She also started handicap riding but had so much pain after two days that she had to stay in bed for a further two days afterwards. She has had a conversation with a psychiatrist at the hospital and they think it would be good for her to continue with this so we shall see what comes out of it. They say that the reason for her headaches and pain is psychiatric.

I feel that the medicine she gets for her POTS has started to work well, she is not so often dizzy any more, just a little sometimes when everything goes black and she has to immediately lie down on the floor.

How can someone who once was so healthy suddenly develop all these illnesses and symptoms?  My greatest wish is that someone out there would help my daughter to recover, to be free of pain and to become the once healthy, happy and very active young woman she once was.

All I want is for my daughter to recover and become her old self again. That surely is not too much to ask.

Anja and Natasja, I am so sorry you have had to endure such a painful and grievous trial.  You are no doubt stronger and wiser for it but I hope and pray events turn for the better for you.

I would use caution with the psychiatric care at this point.  If the doctor doesn’t believe the symptoms are real than his care could prove detrimental.

I have recently become aware of girls and at times their mothers as well being committed rather than healed from physical symptoms.  A cowardly, and lazy alternative to healing victims of the Gardasil reactions.

Unfortunately, some will cling violently to the belief that vaccines cause little to no harm and to think that there is any doubt remaining on the effects of the Gardasil/Cervarix vaccine is hard to believe.  A situation we just have to deal with but there is good news.

Our Heavenly Father has heard the pleas and prayers and there are wonderful practitioners who have stepped up to the plate.  Men and woman of great compassion and skill.  I wouldn’t waste any time with practitioners who do not understand your plight.  Every day is so precious and Natasja can have healing begin right away.

Distance is not a consideration.  You can phone/skype and start recovery today.  You are woman of strength and this weighty trial can begin to be lifted. What a beautiful family you are and I have chosen a favorite artist to soothe some of the heaviness of the day in the clip below.

sanevax-logo-200pxTuesday, February 25, 2:30 p.m. Tokyo time marks the beginning of an International Symposium on the adverse reactions experienced by girls who have been vaccinated by Human Papillomavirus vaccines. This symposium was organized on behalf of The Researchers’ Organization Sounding a Warning concerning the Adverse Reactions induced by Human Papillomavirus Vaccines, through the collaborative efforts of Dr. Harumi Sakai, former Professor at the Tokai University School of Medicine, Dr. Shohei Matsuzaki, Professor Emeritus at the Tokai University School of Medicine, Mutsuo Fukushima, Kyoto News International Department, and SaneVax Inc.

This event will give a voice to the thousands of young women and families around the world who have suffered debilitating side effects, sometimes death, after using HPV vaccines. Many of these families have been told these events are psychosomatic or coincidental.

In fact on January 20, 2014, the Japanese government’s advisory council released an official report quite typical of those issued in other countries in which they dismissed all of the symptoms that have shown up in the bodies of vaccinated girls as the consequences of psychogenetic “psychosomatic reactions” – in other words, the consequences of mental reactions of girls who the council suggested in a sophisticated manner may have been spoiled by mothers who do not know how to give discipline to their girls.

According to Kyoto News Reporter, Mutsuo Fukushima, the key proponent of this theory is Dr. Yutaka Ohno of Keio University, who has stated publicly:

“It is impossible to find physical causes for the alleged and presumed adverse reactions at those vaccinated girls, so we cannot help concluding that their so-called adverse reactions are the mere consequences of psychosomatic reactions.  The government should provide counselling to the girls so that they may be freed from their psychosomatic reactions.”

The organizers of this symposium, along with countless others, find this callous lack of concern for the victims of adverse reactions to HPV vaccines appalling. They want the world to know there are several biologically plausible mechanisms of action via which Gardasil and Cervarix could precipitate these events. They want the world to know what their research shows in the hope of halting HPV vaccination campaigns until these mechanisms of action are identified, and quantified, so those most at risk can be eliminated from any future HPV vaccination programs. Above all, they want the world to know there are those who will not give up working until the devastation following in the wake of mass HPV vaccination programs is stopped.

How and why was this symposium organized?

Early in September 2013, the Secretary General of the Nationwide Liaison Association of Cervical Cancer Vaccine Victims and Parents in Japan, and Mr. (Francis) Mutsuo Fukushima, journalist with the Kyodo News, informed the SaneVax team that there were rumors of a delegation from the Japanese Ministry of Health planning to visit London in October to have discussions on the HPV vaccines with officials in the UK Department of Health and the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).  It was thought that this delegation may be willing to speak with scientific and medical experts who were independent of pharmaceutical industry ties. Knowing what this delegation would hear from the official sources, the SaneVax Team felt it would be critical for this delegation to speak with medical and scientific professionals who had no ties to the pharmaceutical industry.

Prior to official confirmation of this meeting, Norma Erickson, President of SaneVax Inc. and Freda Birrell, Secretary provided their new contacts with information relating to many cases of young girls who had also been harmed by the HPV vaccines, Cervarix and Gardasil, in other parts of the world.  The adverse events being reported in Japan were almost identical to those being reported in every country where these vaccines were administered.  This fact alone seemed to indicate that the adverse events should not be regarded as a coincidence. The entire SaneVax Team thought it critical to demonstrate that this was a global problem. The young women of Japan were not the only ones suffering after HPV vaccinations. The more information sent to Japanese contacts, the more everyone agreed that independent experts had to be heard.

Following many discussions, SaneVax obtained confirmation from Mr. Tetsuya Miyamoto, Director of the Office of Vaccination Policy at the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare’s Health Policy Bureau and a qualified medical doctor in his own right, that he was leading a team embarking on a fact finding mission regarding HPV vaccines. He indicated that he and his team would be willing to meet with independent scientists and a doctor from London on Monday, 7th October 2013 at the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel in London.

This meeting was scheduled to begin at 2 pm and last for 2 hours.  His team consisted of first class medical doctors from two of the six university hospitals in Japan which had been entrusted with official research efforts to shed light on potential cause-and-effect relationships between HPV vaccines and adverse effects being experienced by young girls in Japan. 

Those attending this very important meeting on behalf of SaneVax were:  Dr. Sin Hang Lee, MD, Pathologist, Milford Hospital, Director, Milford Medical Laboratory Inc., and former associate professor of pathology at Yale University; Professor Francois Jerome Authier, MD, PhD, Reference Center for Neuromuscular Disorders, Henri Mondor Hospital, Paris and Dr. Damien Downing, MB BS, MIBiol from London who is a pioneer of Ecological Medicine.  Also in attendance at this meeting were Mrs. Freda Birrell, Secretary of SaneVax Inc. and her husband David Birrell, VAERS Research Analyst for SaneVax Inc. 

Our team in London was treated with the greatest of respect by Mr. Miyamoto and his fellow doctors. They listened attentively to all that was said and watched diligently the excellent power point presentations – stopping many times to ask very important questions.  A Japanese interpreter was also in attendance. 

At that time, we understood that there would be the opportunity for a further meeting organized by SaneVax to be held in Washington, DC when the Japanese delegation visited officials from the FDA and the CDC.  The Japanese delegation did visit Washington, later than expected because of the breakdown in the U.S. government administration. There was no opportunity for a second meeting with SaneVax representatives to take place. 

Therefore, the London meeting became very important as it has proven to be the catalyst for the historic events now scheduled to take place in Japan on the 25th and 26th February 2014. 

For the first time in the history of public immunization campaigns, government officials are willing to listen to the voices of truly independent scientists and medical professionals regarding vaccination policy and immunization practices. This is something that should have happened decades ago. Perhaps the meetings in Japan will herald the beginning of a new medical paradigm.

At the very least, the meetings will provide a voice for thousands of young people and their families who are having to cope with the sometimes debilitating effects of HPV vaccination use.
